The Project Manager of Eligreen Agribusiness Hub, Prince Ackuaku, has urged the government to invest in modern agricultural technologies to attract more youth and women into the farming sector.

Speaking at the Eligreen Women and Youth Agribusiness Exhibition Summit (EWAYES) 2025, themed “Breaking Barriers, Securing Market and Finance Access for Women and Youth in the Agribusiness Sector,” Mr. Ackuaku noted that technology has transformed agriculture in many countries by making it more efficient and appealing to the younger generation.

He explained that adopting technology-driven farming methods and machinery would boost productivity, reduce manual labour, and create more employment opportunities.

“Modern technology is a game-changer,” he said. “It not only improves yields but also empowers women and provides decent jobs for the youth.”

Mr. Ackuaku further encouraged the youth to view agriculture as a profitable and sustainable career path, not as a last resort.

The EWAYES 2025 Summit aims to empower women and young agripreneurs by providing platforms for market access, financing, and innovation in agriculture.

He emphasized that as Ghana pursues economic growth and food security, embracing modern agricultural technologies will be essential to attract a new generation of farmers and unlock the sector’s full potential.
