Alban Bagbin Charges As He Orders Finance Minister To Come To Parliament Immediately To Do This; Details Dropped-CHECK.
The Speaker of Parliament, Right Honorable Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, made a bold and daring statement to the Finance Ministry today at Parliament as the Finance Committee made an attempt to seek approval of a huge 75 Million Euros from the European Investment Bank. It will be recalled that the First Deputy Speaker overturned the ruling of Speaker Bagbin some few months ago on the motion by the minority that government accounts for the COVID expenditures.
Speaker Bagbin once again directed or ordered the Finance Ministry to do this.
“I direct the Ministry of Finance to appear before this house and account for all the monies that were approved for the utilization of the COVID pandemic. It is only then and only after that, that this motion will find expression on the floor to approve or disapprove this loan”.
After Speaker Bagbin made that ruling, the Minority jubilated with a loud ‘Yeah Yeah”. Some of the members in the house started muttering that Joe Wise will come and overturn this decision once again.
