CCPM

CCPM 2020 celebrated in a grand style by Ashaiman Middle East Youth Ministry

CCPM(Chorals, Carol and Pentecostal Music) is an annual Youth Musical Festival organized by Pearls of Praise (Youth Choir) in collaboration with the local Youth Ministry of The Church of Pentecost-Ashaiman Middle East Assembly, Official Town District. The main aim of this festival is to bring all the youth together every year to celebrate the goodness of the Lord through spirit-filled Music.

This program started in 2017 and has since been held every year during the Christmas festive season.

The fourth(4th) edition of this most anticipated Christian Youth Musical Festival in Ashaiman was held on Sunday, 20th December, 2020 in the church auditorium of The Church of Pentecost, Middle East Assembly. The theme for this year’s festival was “EMMANUEL! GOD WITH US”, taken from Matthew 1: 23.

PREPARATIONS /PUBLICITY
In preparation towards the event, a committee from the youth membership was set up(as it was done every year). It was chaired by Deacon Isaac Nyakpo Yeboah and Miss Sandra Addai.

Publicity of the program was massively led by East Media(the local Assembly’s media team), and for the first time, the mass media has been involved in the publicity of the program. As part of the media partnership, there was radio interviews and announcements about the program(including live worship) at Omega 91.1fm, Excellence 92.1fm(online Radios) and Green 88.5fm.

Sponsorship

One unique thing about CCPM is that, it has Official headline sponsors. These sponsorships come from businesses owned by members from the local assembly. The headline sponsors for this year were, That Day Pharmacy owned by Deaconess Cynthia Ekuma(Ass. Local Women’s leader), PhotoWorld Studios owned by Deaconess Mrs Aretha Bosomprah (local Women’s secretary/ wife of presiding elder), Dzii’s Collection owned by Deaconess Bridget Ama Gyamfi(Local Youth secretary), Herbalife owned by Deaconess Gladys Okonoe(Former District Women’s executive member) EUF Enterprise owned by Mrs Eunice Kotoka (Member) and S+P Fresh Tilapia Boutique owned by Elder Seth Agbofu. Other individual members and the local presbytery have also been very supportive over the years and this year as well.

THE D-DAY
As at 4:15pm when the team from Omega/Excellence fm got to the venue, redcarpet was ready with few people there taking pictures. Sound check was done with set of instrumentalists present keeping the auditorium melodious. The program officially started after some 1 and half hours from the scheduled starting time of 4pm. At starting, the auditorium was above half full with most dignitaries already seated.

From Opening Prayer through to hot and feet-sweeping praises, down to a spirit-filled worship, there was no dull moment at all.

Exhortation
In delivering his message of exhortation as the guest of honour for the program, Pastor James Mckeown Asare (District Pastor) focused on the theme for the program, reading from Matthew 1:23. He mentioned that, because mankind sinned, it has brought a gap between them and God and so, God sent his only son to live among us in order to bring us to Himself.
In conclusion, he admonished all to draw closer to God in order to receive eternity.

Ministrations

Beginning with the soloists, Kwame Solomon, Dcn Paul Frimpong, Elder Isaac Obeng, Dcns Mrs Ruth Agyemang(Voice of Pentecost member) beautifully opened the floor with beautiful song ministrations.

Then came the moment for the choirs-Royal Victory Choir, CAC Angelic Singers and Official Town Mass Choir really blessed the congregation with great ministrations. The LOL DANCERS also ‘spoilt the stage’ with some mind blowing choreographical moves. One of the best ministrations for the night was that from the host choir, Pearls of Praise. They really nailed the Christmas Carol with the beautiful choreographical display by the LOL DANCERS. LOL DANCERS is the only vibrant dancing group in the district and one of the best Christian dancing groups in Ashaiman.

Now to the moment many were waiting for- the time with the guest Artiste, elder Emmanuel Arthur. No body was able to sit when he mounted the stage. He started with a typical Pentecostal worship and spiritual songs and then graduated to the praises. It was simply very powerful and his ministration had really added much more ‘taste’ to the program. It was obvious from the reactions of the congregations that, they wanted more of him when he brought his performance to an end. He was super gorgeously backed by the Pearls of Praise.

The 9 Lessons
In between the performances, the 9 lessons were read and the readers were; Dcns Mrs Mavis Asare(Wife of District pastor- Official Town), Mr Bernard Owusu(National Chairman, Ghana Workers Union), Elder Seth Agbofu(Presenter and News reporter, Omega 91.1fm), Elder Micheal Asamoah(Area executive member), Dcns Josephine Donkor(Ashaiman Area Women’s leader), Dcns Agnes Agyare(Local women’s leader-Middle East), Elder Dickson Frimpong(District PEMEM executive member), Dcns Monica Rockson(District women’s Executive member) and Dcns Evelyn Koranteng(Local women’s leader, Calvary).

GENERAL OBSERVATIONS/ REACTIONS

This year’s edition of CCPM was very glorious and per checks, it was the most attended edition of all. Organization was very massive and well done with all the COVID-19 protocols observed.

Many dignitaries from the Ashaiman Area and the Official Town District were present.

Ministrations were very spiritual and above imagination and have even kept all patrons and dignitaries including the district pastor and his wife on their feet dancing. From stage design, sound, instrumentation, redcarpet to the presence of the media was superb. The Mcs for the night (Elvis Debrah & Adwoa Konadu) did marvellously well and were able to keep the program within a reasonable time frame.

Few disturbing situations observed were, many patrons arrived at the program late, with the notion that, they wanted the program to start before they come. Another worrying observation was that, many of the youth were outside while the program was going on, not that there were no seats for them.

Taking the reactions from the audience and the dignitaries present, many were happy and confessed they saw more than expected. Some of the people interviewed by Omega/Excellence media team were; Elder Dickson Frimponng, Dcns Monica Rockson, Dcns Cynthia Ekuma, Elder Bernard Bosomprah(Presiding elder-Middle East), Dcns Agnes Agyare, Dcns Beatrice Gyamfi(Local women’s organizer-Middle East), Mr Bernard Owusu, Elder Bright Sebuave(Agape), Mrs Eunice Kotoka (CEO, EUF Enterprise), Dcns Georgina Akatu(Middle East), Dcn Isaac Nyakpo Yeboah(Committee Chair), Dcn Felix Ocran(Local Youth Leader- Middle East) among others.

Elder Emmanuel Arthur (the Guest Artiste) was also interviewed after the program and he advised the youth to be cautious during this festive season. He praised the organizers for such awesome program and wish to be part of it every year. Dcns Esther Obosu also advised the youth to refrain from any violence and sexual immorality during this season.
