Before 31st December 2021 the IGP, Dr. Akuffo Dampare through the Ghana Police Service cautioned Ghanaian prophets to be circumspect in their prophecies on 31st Night. He warned them to desist from prophesies that will cause fear and panic.
For the first time in many years, there were no doom prophecies about politicians, celebrities, and prominent people in Ghana
One Prophet whose known for doom prophecies is Prophet Nigel Gaisie of Prophetic Hill Church. During 31st Night he made mentioned of “Umofia”. According to him, Umofia is a country in Africa. Their first lady will be in trouble, therefore, the people of Umofia should pray for her. No prophecy about Ghana.
Few days ago, Ghana Police Service invited Prophet Nigel Gaisie for his prophecy concerning “Umofia”. They said his prophecy caused fear and panic.
Nigel Gaisie who was not happy about it revealed how Ghana Police Service has been harassing him since December 2021. He said the police through ECG came to disconnect his light. On 31st December 2021 they sent over 80 police men and women to his church premises.
This morning, the Ghana Police has rescinded their decision to invite Prophet Nigel Gaisie concerning his “Umofia” prophecy.
Former Deputy Information minister under the National Democratic Congress in the John Dramani Mahama administration, Felix Ofosu Kwakye has reacted to the constant harassment towards Prophet Nigel Gaisie.
According to him, IGP through the Police should back off from the overzealous path of seeking to regulate speech and even prophecy. According to him, the celebrity IGP has no right to regulate free speech and prophecy in Ghana.
Hearing that common sense has prevailed and the Ghana Police Service has rescinded its invitation to Nigel Gaisie. There should have been no invitation in the first place. They Must
back off from this overzealous path of seeking to regulate speech and even prophesy” he tweeted.
