JUST IN:Citizens Rise To Demonstrate As They Boldly Storm Security Zone;Police Mount Blockage; Details Dropped-CHECK.
Some residents at Sunyani Chiraa in the Bono Region arose to demonstrate against President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, The Roads Minister and the Bono Regional Minister. The loud chanting demonstrators boldly Stormed the Bono Regional Coordinating Council which has been marked as a security zone for the sitting Regional Minister.
Due to the security implications, the Ghana Police Service quickly mounted a blockage to stop the demonstrators from invading the security marked premises.
The angry demonstrators explained that, the Sunyani to Techiman Road which features Kotokrom, Liberation Barracks, Yawhima, Kobedi and Chiraa townships has become a death trap. This particular road has reportedly taken away the lives of almost 78 people in the last 10 years. Although the road was abandoned by the erstwhile NDC government for 8 years, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo promised to get it done.
Second year into Akufo Addo’s government, contractors are on the road. However they are acting like ghost. You see them today on site, tomorrow they Vanish. The road has become an albatross sucking the blood of innocent Ghanaians.
