Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, who has not yet made an official announcement of his candidacy, is thought to be the front-runner in the contest. On the NDC front, it is widely accepted that the party’s pick for the flagbearership is former President Mahama, who ran as the party’s nominee in the most recent presidential election.
