The stage is set, the excitement is palpable, and the countdown has begun for the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) National Championship, the ultimate test of intellect and strategy among Ghana’s brightest students.
The 2025 NSMQ was officially launched on Wednesday, October 15, at the Elijah Namyela Pankah Auditorium in Accra, with 174 schools gearing up to compete for the prestigious national trophy and academic glory.
Out of the 174 contenders, 27 schools have already secured automatic qualification to the one-eighth stage of the championship.
During the launch event, organizers conducted a fair and transparent draw, grouping the participating schools randomly from pots labelled A, B, and C to determine the preliminary matchups.
This year’s championship will once again be hosted in Cape Coast, the traditional home of the NSMQ.
The preliminary contests are scheduled to take place from October 20 to 24, 2025, with victorious schools advancing to the one-eighth stage from October 26 to 28, 2025. The competition will then heat up in the quarter-finals from October 30 to November 1, followed by the semi-finals on November 3.
The intellectual journey will culminate in the grand finale on November 6, 2025, where the nation’s best and brightest will battle for supremacy and the coveted national title.
Produced by Primetime Limited in partnership with the Ghana Education Service and GOIL PLC, the 2025 NSMQ is powered by an impressive list of sponsors and partners including Pepsodent, Jupay, and Prudential Life Insurance Ghana.
The broadcast of the NSMQ on JoyNews is proudly supported by MTN MoMo, BEL Beverages, Adansi Travels, Trustur AI, RwandAir, KIVO, CORONATION, School, GTP, FLORA, Academic City, Accra College of Medicine, YFM, and SpinCITI Laundromat.
