Ken Agyapong Endured 88 EOCO Investigations Under Mills Administration but Was Never Charged – Ken’s Brother

A brother of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has revealed that the outspoken politician was invited to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on as many as 88 occasions during the administration of late President Professor John Evans Atta Mills, yet no charges were ever brought against him.

According to him, investigations conducted at the time rather confirmed that Mr. Agyapong had exceeded expectations in the execution of his duties, leaving investigators with no basis to prosecute him.

He further stated that Mr. Agyapong’s political strength lies in his consistent support for grassroots members of the party, noting that he regularly shares the benefits of his work with ordinary party supporters. Unlike others, he said, Ken Agyapong is known for openly criticising party leadership and members when he believes things are going wrong.

“The difference is that some people want to enjoy everything alone and keep quiet when the party is heading in the wrong direction,” he noted, contrasting Mr. Agyapong’s approach with that of other political actors.

The brother also explained that Ken Agyapong’s business success is largely due to his ability to pre-finance government contracts with his own resources rather than relying on bank loans. This, he said, allows him to complete projects efficiently and earn substantial returns.

On the political front, he expressed confidence that Ken Agyapong would secure victory in the Greater Accra Region, although he admitted that support in the Ashanti Region remains uncertain at this stage.
