The Attorney General (AG) has questioned how Abdul Wahab, who exited the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) in 2024 with a salary of GHC 28,000, was able to purchase a $1.6 million property from Chain Homes.

Reports indicate that Wahab’s wife, who is described as a housewife earning GHC 5,000, has no other known sources of income. This has raised concerns about how the couple could afford such a high-value property within a short period after Wahab’s exit from public service.

The Attorney General’s query is said to form part of efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in the financial dealings of former public officials.

As of now, there has been no public comment from Abdul Wahab regarding the matter.

The development has sparked public interest, with many Ghanaians calling for a deeper investigation into the source of funding for the purchase and urging the relevant authorities to uphold integrity in public service.
