The Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, has charged police officers in the region to uphold discipline and professionalism as the core of their service, stressing that strong ethical conduct is essential for public trust and security.

Addressing officers and guests at the West African Security Services Association (WASSA) annual celebration in Goaso, Madam Gardiner said the region’s progress depends largely on a police force that is respected, fair, and firm in enforcing the law.

According to her, professionalism in policing not only improves public confidence but also creates the peaceful atmosphere needed to attract investment and support development initiatives.

“When police officers carry out their duties with integrity and fairness, citizens trust the system more. That trust is the foundation of security and growth,” she noted.

The Minister, who also chairs the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equipping the police with the tools and logistics necessary to maintain law and order across Ahafo.

She commended the Regional Police Commander, ACP James Annor, and his team for maintaining peace in the region, urging them to continue building strong relationships with the communities they serve.

The event also recognised officers who distinguished themselves through hard work and dedication, as part of efforts to motivate personnel and promote excellence within the service.
