The 2025 edition of Miss Malaika Ghana ended on a high note at the National Theatre in Accra, where 20-year-old University of Ghana student, Akosua Arhin, was announced as the newest queen. Her win marked the climax of months of grooming, performances and eliminations.
Akosua topped the night ahead of nine other finalists after a rigorous finale. Her victory came with a package that included a brand-new 2025 saloon car, more than GHS 20,000 in cash, a complete scholarship for postgraduate studies, and the opportunity to serve as an ambassador for the Malaika brand throughout her reign.
Excitement filled the auditorium as supporters cheered while Robert Klah, Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse, handed Akosua the keys to her KIA Pegas. The atmosphere captured the pride and relief of an emotional end to a demanding journey.
This year’s show, themed “Defining the Future,” stood out for the quality of the contestants. Many of the young women came in with strong academic backgrounds and well-defined community projects, showing a blend of beauty, intellect and purpose.
Akosua’s standout moment came during the intellectual segment, where she spoke on youth unemployment, a problem she described as “pressing and persistent.” Drawing on data from the Ghana Statistical Service, she highlighted the national unemployment rate of about 13.4% and the even higher rates recorded among young people in urban areas.
She introduced her proposed project, the 4E Initiative, which aims to create training spaces for young women to gain digital and vocational skills. Her plan targets supporting at least 500 women across Greater Accra and Ashanti Region within her year of service.
Her clarity, confidence and well-structured vision convinced the judges, sealing her win in what many observers say was one of the most competitive finales the pageant has hosted.
