Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has been elected President of the African Parliamentarians’ Network Against Corruption (APNAC) during its 9th Biennial General Meeting held in Accra.
Assuming the role, Speaker Bagbin vowed to strengthen anti-corruption initiatives and promote transparency and accountability across Africa’s legislatures.
Describing the election as both an honour and a responsibility, he thanked the outgoing leadership for laying a solid foundation and urged parliamentarians to work together to ensure ethical governance.
“Our collective effort is essential to building parliaments where integrity is not just expected, but consistently practiced,” he stated.
APNAC, which unites legislators from across the continent, provides a platform for promoting good governance, legislative oversight, and the exchange of anti-corruption best practices.
