Parliament will reconvene on Tuesday, October 14, for the Third Meeting of the First Session of the 9th Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

A notice issued by Speaker Alban Bagbin stated that the House will commence sitting at 2:00 pm at Parliament House in Accra, in line with Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament. The announcement officially ends the recess and signals the return of Members of Parliament (MPs) to active business.

The upcoming session is expected to focus on critical government business, committee reports, and oversight responsibilities. With economic recovery and public finance challenges still dominating national discourse, the sitting is anticipated to be one of the most significant of the year.

Already, sections of the public have expressed hope that Parliament will rise above partisan politics to deliver extraordinary decisions in the best interest of the nation. Citizens say they are looking forward to bold, people-centred outcomes that address pressing social and economic concerns.

The last meeting of the House before recess was marked by heated debates over economic recovery measures, expenditure management, and accountability, issues likely to resurface when proceedings begin on October 14.
