Prominent National Democratic Congress (NDC) member Anita Desoso has denied suggestions that she has been sidelined or forgotten by the current government, affirming that she continues to serve in an official capacity.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s “Ekosii Sen” programme, Madam Desoso revealed that she currently sits on the Board of the National Population Council, contrary to claims that she has been left out of national and party affairs.

“I have not been sidelined or abandoned. When we talk about appointments, I have been given one, I just don’t make noise about it,” she clarified.

The former NDC National Women’s Organiser explained that her reduced public appearances were a personal decision to take time off and recuperate following the 2024 general elections.

“After the election, some of us needed to rest because I am growing old,” she said with a laugh.

Madam Desoso also reflected on the passing of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, describing her death as a painful personal loss. She credited the late Nana Konadu and her husband, the late Jerry John Rawlings, for playing pivotal roles in shaping her political career.

“Besides God, it is her and her husband who helped make me somebody,” she said emotionally.

Her comments come at a time when discussions about recognition, inclusion, and the participation of veteran party members have resurfaced within the NDC.

By confirming her ongoing role in public service, Madam Desoso reassured supporters of her continued commitment to both the party and the country’s development agenda.
