The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, has apologised to residents of Adenta over comments made by the party’s regional organiser, Anthony Nukpenu, about the poor state of the Adenta-Lakeside road.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Mr. Ashie Moore described the remarks as unfortunate and said they did not reflect the views of the NDC or government.

“On behalf of the NDC Greater Accra, the party executives, and the President, I apologise for that statement. We promised to fix the roads, and we ask the people to be patient with us,” he said.

The former Adentan MP assured residents that he would personally lead a delegation to ensure the road is repaired, adding that discussions have already begun with the Minister for Roads and Highways.

“We are only ten months into government, and development will follow soon. We are a listening government, and we appreciate the people of Adenta for their patience and support,” he added.

His comments follow public backlash after Mr. Nukpenu suggested that residents should organise themselves to fix the road if they felt the government was not moving fast enough.
