Former Vice President and 2024 NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has congratulated the University for Development Studies (UDS) on winning the 2025 World University Football Championship.
The Tamale-based university made history on Sunday, November 28, by becoming the first Ghanaian and African institution to lift the title.
In a post on social media, Dr. Bawumia described the triumph as “a truly historic feat that has brought pride to Ghana and Africa,” praising the team’s dedication and resilience.
He added that the victory should inspire other Ghanaian universities to invest in sports and nurture young talents, noting that it proves the potential of Ghanaian youth to excel globally in both academics and athletics.
UDS’s triumph has sparked widespread celebration across social media, with many lauding the team for making history.
