Senior Lecturer at Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Ishag Brobbey has projected that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will secure more than 75 percent of the votes in the Ashanti Region in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential election.
According to Dr. Brobbey, the voting pattern in the Ashanti Region is often a strong indicator of outcomes in other regions, making it a decisive bloc within the party’s internal elections.
“The decision the Ashanti Region will make will be the same decision that will reflect in the other regions,” he stated.
He explained that his conclusion is based on empirical evidence, revealing that he has conducted two separate research studies for the NPP in the Ashanti Region, both of which showed a consistent trend.
“I have done two researches for the NPP in the Ashanti Region, and both showed that when it comes to presidential choices within the party, the Ashanti Region sets the pace and the other regions follow,” he said.
Dr. Brobbey also highlighted the role of Dr. Bawumia’s wife in strengthening his campaign, describing her as a key asset to the team.
He noted that she has been actively involved in the campaign and possesses strong communication skills, including the ability to speak about eight languages, which has helped broaden the campaign’s appeal across different constituencies.
“She has been very instrumental in her husband’s campaign. Her ability to communicate in multiple languages has been a major advantage,” he added.
