Deputy Minister for Defence, Brogya Gyenfi, has assured Ghanaians, especially traders operating in border communities, that they remain safe despite growing instability in some neighbouring countries.

Speaking in Parliament in response to a question from the Member of Parliament for Bosome Freho, Asafo Adjei, Mr. Gyenfi said the government has implemented comprehensive security measures to protect citizens living and trading along Ghana’s borders.

He emphasized that the Ghana Armed Forces continue to demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights, values that have earned the country international recognition through its performance in United Nations peacekeeping missions.

Reaffirming the military’s commitment, the Deputy Minister said the Armed Forces remain steadfast in safeguarding Ghana’s territorial integrity and supporting democratic governance.

“Our border residents and traders have no cause for fear,” he assured. “The military is vigilant, proactive, and dedicated to ensuring the safety and stability of our nation.”
