A former Deputy Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, has declared that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is fully prepared and strategically positioned to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as its flagbearer.
Speaking in an interview, Dr. Amin Adam said his observations from Dr. Bawumia’s nationwide campaign demonstrate overwhelming support and endorsement from party members across all regions, including the Upper West Region.
“I have watched Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia campaign across the country, and the level of support he is receiving from our party people is remarkable. The endorsement is enormous, and I have no doubt that he will be elected by the good delegates to become our flagbearer,” he noted.
He argued that political parties perform best when they present candidates with strong national appeal, adding that no presidential candidate has ever won an election on their first attempt. According to him, Dr. Bawumia’s political journey and visibility place him ahead of all contenders.
“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the most marketed candidate. This is a fact. He has been on the NPP presidential ticket five consecutive times, both as running mate and flagbearer,” he said.
Dr. Amin Adam further stated that Dr. Bawumia’s name recognition gives the NPP a strategic advantage going into the 2028 general elections.
“Every household knows the name Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia,” he emphasized.
