The Effutu Municipal Assembly has taken a significant step toward strengthening environmental sanitation with the official handover of eight (8) skip containers to support effective waste management across the municipality.

The ceremony, held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly, was presided over by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Rev. Atta Mensah, and brought together key stakeholders from the Assembly, traditional leadership structures, and partner institutions.

The initiative forms part of the Assembly’s broader commitment to promoting cleaner streets, healthier neighbourhoods, and sustainable environmental practices within Effutu.

Handing over the skip containers on behalf of the Suppliers, the Managing Director of Canidosa Company Limited, Mr. Klinsmann Paa Kwesi Esseku, reaffirmed his company’s dedication to delivering quality products on schedule to support local government development efforts. He noted that Canidosa Company Limited remains committed to maintaining its reputation as a reliable partner in addressing critical social and infrastructural needs.

“We are proud to have delivered these skip containers as part of our contribution to improving sanitation in the Effutu Municipality. Our company will continue to support development initiatives that improve the quality of life for communities,” Mr. Esseku stated.

In his address, Hon. Rev. Atta Mensah expressed appreciation to Canidosa Company Limited for the successful execution of the contract and emphasized the importance of proper waste disposal in safeguarding public health.

According to the MCE, the provision of the skip containers is a strategic intervention aimed at curbing indiscriminate dumping of refuse, which has been a persistent challenge in some communities within the municipality.

“Sanitation is a matter of life, health, and leadership. It is our collective responsibility to do the needful and confront sanitation challenges head-on,” he emphasized.

He further urged residents, market operators, transport unions, and other stakeholders to make responsible use of the containers and refrain from practices that contribute to environmental pollution.

Hon. Rev. Atta Mensah assured the public of the Assembly’s unwavering commitment to rolling out additional sanitation interventions to enhance waste management, protect public health, and create a cleaner urban environment for present and future generations.

The ceremony concluded on an optimistic note, marking another milestone in the Assembly’s drive toward achieving a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient Effutu Municipality.
