The Effutu Municipal Assembly has officially handed over three key project sites to contractors for the commencement of renovation works under its flagship Legacy Project Initiative; a strategic intervention aimed at upgrading critical municipal infrastructure and improving service delivery across the municipality.
The site handover exercise, held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, covered the Woarabeba Health Centre at Woarabeba, the Municipal Chief Executive’s (MCE) official residence at Domeabra, and a Teachers’ Bungalow also located at Domeabra–Winneba. The projects form part of the Assembly’s broader Renewing Effutu Agenda, which seeks to enhance healthcare delivery, strengthen institutional capacity, and improve the welfare of public sector workers.
Addressing stakeholders during the exercise, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Rev. Atta Mensah, underscored the strategic importance of the projects to the socio-economic development of the municipality. He noted that the renovation of the Woarabeba Health Centre would significantly improve access to quality healthcare for residents in the area, while the refurbishment of the MCE’s residence and the Teachers’ Bungalow would ensure decent and secure accommodation for public officials and teaching staff.
“These projects are not just about infrastructure; they are about improving the quality of life of our people and creating an enabling environment for public servants to perform effectively,” Hon. Rev. Atta Mensah said. He urged contractors to adhere strictly to specifications, use high-quality and durable materials, and complete the works within the agreed timelines. The MCE further emphasized the need to engage skilled local artisans, particularly from Winneba, as part of efforts to promote local economic participation and ownership.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Majeed Ayariga, reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring value for money through strict supervision and coordination. He stressed the importance of complying with project timelines and quality standards, assuring stakeholders that the Assembly would closely monitor the works to guarantee excellence. Mr. Ayariga also highlighted the need for adequate protection and security of the MCE’s residence upon completion to preserve the investment.
For his part, the Municipal Planning Officer, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq Adam, explained that the renovation of critical health and residential infrastructure is essential for balanced development and institutional strengthening within the municipality. He emphasized that infrastructure development must be complemented by a strong maintenance culture to ensure long-term sustainability. “We are committed to instilling a maintenance culture among stakeholders so these facilities can serve the municipality for many years to come,” he assured.
The Effutu Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its resolve to continuously engage residents, traditional authorities, and other stakeholders as it rolls out development initiatives under the Renewing Effutu Agenda. The Assembly expressed confidence that the successful completion of the Legacy Projects would contribute significantly to a modernized, resilient, and people-centered municipal environment.
