Aspiring General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Eugene Boakye Antwi, has thrown his full weight behind Mahamudu Bawumia, insisting that loyalty to the party now demands unwavering support for his flagbearer bid.
Speaking on Oyerepa Radio, Antwi stated emphatically that party members who fail to back Dr. Bawumia’s candidature cannot be considered true supporters of the NPP.
“You are an enemy of the NPP if you don’t support Dr. Bawumia as flagbearer of the party. I am one hundred and ten percent behind the candidature of Dr. Bawumia,” he declared.
Antwi explained that his support is rooted not only in party loyalty but also in years of close working experience with the former Vice President. According to him, this long-standing relationship has given him firsthand insight into Dr. Bawumia’s leadership style and commitment to the party’s ideals.
“I have worked closely with Dr. Bawumia for a very long time and I’m that close to him,” he noted.
The aspiring General Secretary further linked his endorsement to his long-held advocacy for unity within the party, stressing that cohesion and inclusion must remain central to the NPP’s internal politics as it prepares for the 2028 general elections.
“I have been very consistent with inclusion, cohesion and unity; that has been my message. I am totally in support of Dr. Bawumia,” Antwi added.
