Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Mama Pat, has formally retracted several statements she made on social media regarding Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye. The retraction, issued through her legal counsel, comes months after the controversial posts were published in May 2025.

According to the statement from Agyaa Asamani Law Consult, the posts were made in reaction to a prior comment by Mr. Hopeson Adorye, but were taken literally and interpreted as allegations of immorality against Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye.

The legal notice emphasizes that the claims were false and “completely without merit,” and that Evangelist Asiedua retracts every statement contained in the publications.

“Our client also offers an unqualified and sincere apology to Empress Gifty Adorye Oppong for the harm these false statements have caused to her personal and professional reputation, character, and well-being. This apology is also extended to her family, friends, and colleagues for the pain and distress they have endured,” the statement read.

The retraction underscores the responsibility of public figures in handling sensitive statements on social media, and seeks to restore the reputation of Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye.

Richard Asare Baffour, Esq., acting as counsel for Evangelist Asiedua, signed the document, marking a formal closure to the dispute.
