The family of the late Samuel Aboagye, one of the eight people who died in the August 6 helicopter accident, has denied reports suggesting that a DNA test has already been carried out to confirm the paternity of his child.
Following Aboagye’s passing, rumours began circulating that his wife had allegedly refused to bring their child forward for DNA verification, fuelling speculation about the child’s parentage and the identification process. Later, some media reports claimed the test had been completed and that the results cleared her of any doubt.
However, Nana Dwamena Kwabena Yiakwan II, the deceased’s brother, told Adom News that no such test has taken place. He described the reports as completely inaccurate and said the family is unaware of where the misinformation originated.
He explained that the case is currently before the court, and a ruling expected on December 23, 2025, will determine how the matter proceeds.
According to him, “Any DNA analysis can only happen after the court’s decision. All the stories circulating now are baseless.”
The family has urged the public and media to disregard the ongoing speculation and wait for official processes to unfold.
