A fire outbreak at Tse Addo, opposite the God Super Church in the Greater Accra Region, has destroyed several wooden structures after breaking out on Friday morning, January 9, 2026.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said it received a distress call at exactly 8:01 a.m., prompting an immediate response. Firefighters, led by Assistant Divisional Officer II Kelvin Ntreh, arrived at the scene within minutes at 8:08 a.m. to confront the blaze.

According to the Service, the fire was brought under control by 8:32 a.m. and fully extinguished by 10:36 a.m. No injuries or fatalities were recorded.

In all, nine wooden structures and their contents were completely destroyed, while a metal container and items inside it were partially damaged. Swift intervention by emergency personnel, however, prevented the fire from spreading to nearby properties.

Firefighters successfully salvaged a chamber-and-hall self-contained building, the God Super Church, as well as several food items in the area, significantly minimising the extent of the losses.

Additional support was provided by fire tenders from the Ministries Fire Station and the Military Fire Unit, who joined efforts to fully contain the blaze.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations have been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
