The Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO) has successfully hosted Cohort 4 of the African Youth Negotiators Fellowship (AYNF), bringing together dynamic young climate advocates from across the continent at Ensign Global University.

Held from September 29 to October 3, 2025, the week-long programme equipped participants with advanced negotiation skills, a deeper grasp of global climate diplomacy, and opportunities for pan-African collaboration.

The fellowship featured a blend of hands-on negotiation simulations, expert-led sessions, and mentorship from seasoned climate negotiators, offering participants practical exposure to the workings of UNFCCC processes and international climate discussions.

Beyond the sessions, the fellowship created a vibrant platform for networking, cross-country partnerships, and solidarity, strengthening youth leadership in Africa’s collective climate response.

The programme was organised in partnership with the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) and Ghana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), reaffirming the shared commitment to empowering young Africans to take active roles in shaping climate policy and advocacy across the continent.
