The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that it has received financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance to pay salaries for 6,249 teachers who were recruited in 2024 but had not yet been placed on the government payroll.
According to an official statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Mr. Daniel Fenyi, the approval paves the way for the GES to complete all necessary administrative processes to ensure that the affected teachers receive their long-awaited salaries.
“The financial clearance allows the Ghana Education Service to complete all necessary processes to ensure the staff receive their salaries,” the statement noted.
The GES further indicated that although the clearance expires on December 31, 2025, management is making every effort to ensure that all staff are placed on the mechanized payroll in time for the November 2025 salary payments.
Management of GES expressed appreciation to the newly recruited teachers for their patience, commitment, and dedication to duty, assuring them of continued efforts to ensure timely and accurate salary disbursements.
“The management thanks all staff for their dedication and remains committed to facilitating timely and accurate salary payments,” Mr. Fenyi added.
This development brings relief to the affected teachers who have been waiting for months for their salaries after completing the recruitment process in 2024. It also underscores GES’s commitment to improving teacher welfare and ensuring stability in Ghana’s education system.
