The Ghana Air Force Aviation College (GHAFAC) has held a closing ceremony for a cohort of K-8 aircraft technicians and engineers after the successful completion of the K-8 Type Rating Course, a six-week intensive training programme aimed at strengthening technical expertise in the maintenance and operation of the K-8 aircraft.

The ceremony, held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the College premises, celebrated the dedication and achievement of the trainees who underwent rigorous theoretical and practical sessions under the supervision of seasoned instructors from the Ghana Air Force.

Speaking at the event, the Commandant of GHAFAC commended the participants for their discipline and commitment throughout the training. He emphasised that the course was part of the Air Force’s broader effort to build local technical capacity, reduce maintenance downtime, and enhance operational efficiency in aircraft management.

He noted that the K-8 aircraft, being a vital component of the Ghana Air Force’s fleet, requires highly skilled personnel to ensure its optimal performance and safety.

The Commandant further urged the graduates to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to improve the Air Force’s aviation engineering standards and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s national security operations.

Certificates of completion were presented to the participants, while outstanding trainees received special commendations for their exemplary performance during the training.

The event was attended by senior officers of the Ghana Air Force, instructors, and families of the graduating trainees.
