The Ghanaian government has issued a strong statement condemning the recent Israeli airstrikes on Qatar. In a release dated September 10, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over the attack, which resulted in casualties and destruction of property in the Gulf state.

The government views the airstrikes as a clear violation of international law and an affront to Qatar’s sovereignty. According to the statement, “The Government of the Republic of Ghana condemns the attack in view of the fact that the airstrikes constitute a clear violation of international law and an affront to the sovereignty of the State of Qatar.”

Ghana’s government also highlighted that the attack undermines the ongoing pursuit of peace between Palestine and Israel. This development could potentially destabilize the region and hinder diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a lasting resolution.

In light of the situation, Ghana has called on all parties involved to exercise restraint and recommit to dialogue as the only viable path to achieving sustainable peace in the Middle East. The government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peaceful dialogue, stability, and respect for sovereignty in the region.

Ghana has expressed solidarity with the people of Qatar during this challenging time. The government commended Qatar’s efforts in mediating between Israel and Palestine, urging that the incident should not hinder Qatar’s diplomatic initiatives.

By condemning the airstrikes and emphasizing the importance of international law and diplomacy, Ghana’s government has taken a principled stance on the issue, prioritizing peace and stability in the region.
