The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 26 additional cases of Mpox, raising the cumulative number of infections recorded in the country to 713 as of October 10, 2025.

In its latest situational update, the Service indicated that no new fatalities have been reported, keeping the national death toll at three. It added that three patients are currently hospitalized and are responding to treatment.

The GHS reiterated that Mpox, a viral disease transmitted primarily through close contact with an infected person, presents symptoms such as fever, body rash, headaches, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and general fatigue.

Health authorities have therefore urged members of the public who show any of these signs to report promptly to the nearest health facility for proper diagnosis and care.

The Service also renewed its call for Ghanaians to observe strict personal hygiene and adhere to preventive practices, including avoiding direct contact with infected persons and maintaining clean surroundings, to curb further transmission of the disease.
