Interior Minister Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak has announced that recruitment for the Prisons, Immigration, Police, and Fire Services will be fully digitised to prevent long queues and avoid tragedies during enlistment exercises.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, November 14, the Asawase MP explained that the new system will replace paper-based applications with an online platform, allowing applicants to complete the process from home using their mobile phones. The portal’s access code will be published on Sunday, November 16.
“Our aim is a seamless, centralised e-recruitment system to harmonise applications across all security services,” Minister Mubarak said.
The announcement follows the deadly stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium, which left six people dead and dozens injured, and a similar incident in Kumasi that injured five applicants.
The fully digital system is expected to reduce congestion, enhance safety, and streamline the recruitment process for all candidates.
