Doha, Qatar – Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama is currently in Doha, Qatar, participating in the prestigious Doha Forum 2025 at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar.

Arriving in Doha on Saturday morning aboard a Qatar Airways Executive Jet provided by the State of Qatar, President Mahama will make two significant interventions during the forum. He will deliver an opening remark on “Education as Justice in Times of Crisis” and join a panel discussion on “Economic Empowerment in Africa: Pathway to Inclusive Prosperity”.

In addition to his engagements at the forum, President Mahama will hold talks with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and Qatar. The discussions are expected to focus on potential investments in Ghana’s power and energy sectors, among other areas of cooperation.

President Mahama’s visit aims to further enhance Ghana-Qatar relations, building on previous engagements and exploring new avenues for collaboration in sectors such as tourism, aviation, agriculture, and education. Qatar has expressed interest in investing in Ghana’s growing economy, particularly in the energy and tourism sectors.

The president is scheduled to depart Doha on Sunday, concluding his productive visit to the Qatari capital.
