Ghana’s Presidential jet, the Falcon 900 EX, is undergoing its final round of maintenance checks in France before being returned to the country, according to the Ministry of Defence.

Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, informed Parliament that the ongoing procedures include a leak test on the aircraft’s fuel tanks, a third engine ground run, painting of the lower wing panel, and an acceptance flight test to confirm full airworthiness.

The maintenance follows earlier repairs to fuel leakages detected in the right-hand wing tank and the replacement of corroded components, which caused earlier delays.

“The Falcon 900 executive aircraft was ferried to Falcon Services in France on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, for a periodic inspection. Corrosion spots were reported within the aircraft, which affected the delivery date, but extensive repairs have been completed,” Mr. Genfi said.

He added that after all final inspections and test flights are successfully conducted, the aircraft will be cleared for return to Ghana.

The Falcon 900 has been Ghana’s primary presidential aircraft for official government travel, and its maintenance schedule forms part of the Defence Ministry’s routine safety and operational assurance programme.
