The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has issued a stern warning to traditional leaders and close associates who pretend to be loyal to him, cautioning that the Golden Stool, the sacred symbol of Asante unity and authority, will not spare anyone harboring ill motives.

The Asantehene emphasized that while he welcomes genuine support and cooperation from his chiefs and elders, those who secretly work against the progress of Asanteman will face spiritual and moral consequences.

“The Golden Stool knows the hearts of men. If you sit around it with a divided mind, it will deal with you,” Otumfuo warned.

He described the Golden Stool as not just a royal symbol but a living embodiment of the spirit of the Asante people, representing their unity, strength, and destiny. The Asantehene said those who betray the sanctity of the Stool for personal gain risk invoking its wrath.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II further called for renewed commitment to honesty, humility, and service among traditional leaders, urging them to prioritize the collective good of their communities above individual interests.

“The unity and peace of Asanteman depend on our sincerity and devotion to duty. The Stool was not created for selfishness, deceit, or disloyalty,” he stated.

The Asantehene’s remarks come amid reports of growing tensions and disputes within some traditional councils, which he said threaten the cohesion and dignity of the Asante Kingdom.

Otumfuo concluded with a reminder that the Golden Stool remains the ultimate seat of truth and justice, one that rewards loyalty but exposes hypocrisy.
