The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for Adentan, Akosua Manu, has called for firm action against Awutu Senya East MP, Naa Koryoo, over what she described as false and damaging allegations made against former Fisheries Minister Hawa Koomson.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Friday, November 7, Akosua Manu, popularly known as Kozie, insisted that there must be consequences for the claims that Hawa Koomson had allegedly shot at her and killed two of her supporters.
She argued that such allegations, now disproven by official findings from the Ministry of the Interior, cannot go unpunished.
According to a recent parliamentary briefing, the Interior Minister confirmed that Naa Koryoo had spoken to the Election Security Task Force and denied that the purported attack ever occurred, contradicting her earlier public accusations.
Akosua Manu described the development as a serious matter of political integrity, saying:
“The Interior Minister’s update has made the facts clear. You cannot malign another person, especially a woman leader like Hawa Koomson, with lies and walk away without consequence.”
She further warned that spreading falsehoods for political gain undermines public trust and weakens Ghana’s democracy, urging authorities to take decisive steps to curb the spread of misinformation in the political space.
Akosua Manu, who also serves as a key aide to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, said the NPP remains committed to promoting truth, accountability, and responsible political communication.
