Latest polling data ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries shows Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, taking a commanding lead with over 50 percent of projected votes.
The survey, conducted by an independent research group ahead of the upcoming internal contest, indicates that Agyapong has gained significant grassroots support, particularly among delegates and youth members who view him as a symbol of “bold, decisive leadership.”
Political analysts suggest that Agyapong’s strong showing may signal a shift in delegate sentiment, with growing calls within the party for a more outspoken and independent-minded candidate.
While the NPP leadership has yet to comment officially on the poll results, the findings have generated fresh debate about the likely outcome of the primaries, expected to be one of the most competitive in the party’s history.
The NPP is scheduled to hold its presidential primaries later this year to select a flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
