Spokesperson to Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Pius Enam Hadzide, has attributed Kennedy Agyapong’s outburst at the NPP presidential peace pact signing ceremony to what he described as a comprehension challenge, rather than any flaw in the document itself.

Speaking on Oyerepa TV, Mr. Hadzide dismissed claims that there were errors in the peace pact, insisting that the document was clearly drafted and properly executed by all aspirants.

“There was no mistake on the face of the document. Everybody signed where they were supposed to sign,” he stated.

According to Mr. Hadzide, if any issue arose, it was not with the content of the peace pact but with Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s understanding of its purpose.

“If there was a problem, it was a comprehension problem on the part of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong,” he said.

He explained that the peace pact was designed strictly as a moral and ethical framework to promote unity, discipline, and peaceful conduct among aspirants and their supporters, rather than a legal instrument.

“The peace pact was a moral framework meant to facilitate unity and peace within the party,” Mr. Hadzide explained.

He further clarified that matters relating to election-related misconduct are already covered under existing party and national regulations, making it unnecessary to include them in the peace pact.

“What he was discussing was a legal framework that already deals with election-related misconduct. We were not supposed to add that to the peace pact because there are already existing regulations governing those issues,” he noted.

Mr. Hadzide maintained that a proper understanding of the document would have prevented the public disagreement.

“If he had understood it well, he would not have said what he did,” he concluded.
