In a conversation on Asempa FM’s Showbiz Review, the “Say Cheese” and “Touch It” hitmaker shared reflections on his career and the challenges that often test one’s commitment to their dreams.
According to KiDi, every dreamer reaches a point where things feel overwhelming, but passion separates those who push forward from those who quit.
“Sometimes you’ll feel exhausted or even broken,” he said. “But when you truly love what you do, that passion becomes your strength. Without it, you’ll give up.”
The award-winning musician recalled his early years in the industry, noting how his love for music carried him through uncertainty. His breakthrough came in 2015, when he competed in the MTN Hitmaker reality show, a move that opened the door to a record deal with Lynx Entertainment.
Since then, KiDi has built an impressive career with hit songs such as “Odo”, “Adiepena”, and “Touch It”, blending smooth vocals with relatable storytelling. The remix of “Odo” featuring Nigerian stars Davido and Mayorkun marked his entry into the continental spotlight.
Now an established figure in African music, KiDi says his success story is a reminder that no journey is without struggle.
“There were tough days,” he admitted. “But once your focus is bigger than your frustration, nothing can stop you.”
His message to young creatives is simple, chase your goals with passion, even when progress feels slow. “It’s your passion that fuels persistence,” he added.
Through his music and message, KiDi continues to inspire a generation that dares to dream, reminding them that success isn’t just about talent or opportunity, it’s about heart
