Ghanaian media icon Kwasi Kyei Darkwah, widely known as KKD, has been appointed as the country’s Special Envoy to the Caribbean.
The move comes as part of Ghana’s effort to bolster diplomatic relations and deepen cooperation with nations across the Caribbean region.
In his new capacity, KKD will lead initiatives to strengthen economic, cultural, and diplomatic ties with countries such as Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados.
His role aligns with Ghana’s broader foreign policy goals, which include promoting Ghanaian culture abroad, expanding trade and investment opportunities, and collaborating with Caribbean partners to tackle shared development challenges.
KKD’s appointment reflects Ghana’s dedication to building on historical and cultural links with the Caribbean, using these ties as a foundation for stronger partnerships.
