As farmers across the country prepare to mark this year’s Farmers’ Day, the Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Ernest Yaw Anim, has extended support to agricultural workers in his constituency through a donation of essential farm tools.

The MP presented a variety of items, including knapsack sprayers, cutlasses and wellington boots, aimed at equipping farmers ahead of the district’s celebration. The gesture, he said, reflects his commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector, which remains the backbone of the local economy.

Mr. Anim made the presentation when he met with the Sekyere Kumawu District Chief Executive, Kwasi Amankwa, in Kumawu. He highlighted the vital role farmers play in food production and rural development, adding that supporting them is central to the constituency’s long-term growth.

During the meeting, the MP and the DCE held broader discussions on development priorities within the district. Their conversation touched on ongoing projects, gaps that require urgent attention, and ways to align both governmental and constituency resources to address emerging challenges.

They also explored strategies to improve infrastructure, expand social services, and enhance the welfare of residents, efforts the MP described as crucial to building a resilient and progressive constituency.

Mr. Amankwa welcomed the donation and expressed appreciation on behalf of the district assembly. He noted that collaboration between political and administrative leaders has been essential in advancing local development.

“Every contribution counts, especially when it supports the people who feed the nation,” the DCE said, reaffirming the assembly’s commitment to continue working closely with the MP and other stakeholders to uplift living conditions across the district.
