Students of the Ghana School of Law can now access financial assistance under the Students’ Loan Plus Scheme, following a directive from President John Mahama to expand eligibility for professional programmes.
In a statement released by the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), the agency confirmed that law students are now eligible to apply for full-fee coverage loans, marking a significant step toward inclusive higher education financing in Ghana.
“This move ensures that students pursuing professional legal training are not hindered by financial constraints,” the Fund stated.
“It aligns with our mission to promote equitable access to quality higher education for all Ghanaians.”
The initiative, according to the SLTF, is part of government’s broader agenda to bridge financial gaps in professional education, ensuring that qualified students are not denied opportunities due to the high cost of training.
Under the arrangement, eligible applicants can apply for support through the “No Fees Stress Portal” on the Fund’s official website, www.sltf.gov.gh. The online process allows students to select the loan option, submit required details, and track their application in real time.
The SLTF further assured prospective beneficiaries of continuous technical and financial support, noting that applicants can reach the Fund via its official helplines or email at info@sltf.gov.gh.
Reaffirming its commitment, the Fund said the inclusion of law students underscores its determination to extend equitable financing to all Ghanaian learners, particularly those in specialized and professional programmes.
