Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, Mahama Ayariga, has convened a strategic meeting with government ministers to prepare for the new parliamentary session.
Such consultations are part of the routine parliamentary process, designed to align the government’s legislative agenda with the activities of the House. At the beginning of each session, the Majority Leader brings ministers together to review bills and other proposals expected to be introduced in Parliament.
According to Mr. Ayariga, the meeting centered on reviewing the legislative initiatives that ministers plan to present, evaluating their readiness, and prioritizing matters for debate and approval.
He emphasized that these preliminary discussions are essential for ensuring the smooth scheduling of government business and for maintaining order in the House. Early coordination, he noted, allows Parliament to manage its workload efficiently and ensures that proposed legislation is considered in a timely manner.
