The Circuit Court Two in Cape Coast has sentenced Eric Asamoah to sixteen (16) years imprisonment with hard labour after he pleaded guilty to defilement charges.

The case, which stems from an incident that occurred on November 2, 2025, was called on November 6, 2025, before Her Honour Nana Aba Quaiba Nunoo. Asamoah was convicted on his own plea, and the court immediately handed down the prison sentence.

Following the ruling, Asamoah was remanded to Ankaful Prison to begin serving his sentence.

The Ghana Police Service, through its Public Affairs Unit in Cape Coast, issued a statement confirming the sentence and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting vulnerable citizens and ensuring that offenders of sexual crimes face the full force of the law.

The conviction comes amid nationwide efforts to clamp down on sexual offences and reinforce the protection of children and minors against abuse.
