Ghana has recorded another increase in Mpox cases, with health authorities confirming 13 new infections across the country as of October 1, 2025.

This recent update brings the national total to 670 cases, reflecting a gradual surge in infections in recent weeks.

In a statement, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) revealed that three individuals have lost their lives to the disease, while one other person remains on admission receiving treatment.

The Service is urging the public to take extra precautions, warning that the virus is mainly spread through direct physical contact with an infected person or contaminated surfaces.

GHS further advised citizens to maintain good personal hygiene and to report immediately to the nearest health centre if they experience symptoms such as fever, body rash, swollen lymph nodes, headache, muscle pain, chills, or fatigue.

Public health teams across the regions have been placed on alert as the Service intensifies surveillance and community education to control further spread.
