Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has expressed strong confidence in his future, insisting that his finest performances are yet to come following his high-profile move to Manchester City.

The 25-year-old forward has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with the Premier League champions after an impressive run of form at AFC Bournemouth, where his performances attracted interest from several top European clubs.

Semenyo, however, opted for Manchester City, citing the club’s winning mentality and the opportunity to compete at the highest level under manager Pep Guardiola.

“My best football is yet to come, I am sure of that,” he said. “City are in a great position and still competing in four tournaments. I believe I can contribute to a strong second half of the season.”

The Black Stars attacker also shared his excitement about beginning a new chapter at the Etihad Stadium.

“The Etihad is my new home. I am really looking forward to playing in front of the fans and showing what I can bring to the team,” he added.

Semenyo’s career progression has been steady and impressive. Since joining Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023, he has featured in 110 matches and developed into one of the Premier League’s most dynamic attacking players. In the current league campaign, he has netted 10 goals, including a brace against Liverpool and a dramatic late winner against Tottenham Hotspur.

The transfer also benefits Bristol City financially, as the Championship side is set to receive 20 percent of the profit from the deal, having sold Semenyo to Bournemouth for an initial fee of approximately £10 million.

At Manchester City, Semenyo is expected to strengthen the attacking unit with his pace, physicality, and versatility across the front line. He remains an integral member of the Ghana national team, having earned over 30 caps for the Black Stars, including appearances at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The forward, who will wear the No. 42 shirt, is expected to make his debut for City in their FA Cup clash against Exeter City this Saturday at the Etihad Stadium.
