A distressed woman has narrated a painful account of alleged domestic abuse and marital breakdown on Auntie Naa on Oyerepa TV, claiming that years of physical violence from her husband have left her with damaged teeth and emotional trauma.

According to the woman, the latest incident began during the Christmas period, following a disagreement with her husband, Akwesi Nkrumah, popularly known as Elder Obeng. She explained that her husband frequently travels to Accra to work with a pastor, adding that she had always prayed for him to find favour in that arrangement.

She said her husband left home without any communication after the disagreement. Shortly after, she was arrested following a family dispute involving her son’s partner and grandchild, who were living in the house. She said she expected her husband to come to her aid.

“I thought my husband would come and bail me, but he refused,” she recounted.

After securing bail on her own and returning home, she said repeated attempts to contact her husband failed, as her calls were blocked. She later sent him a voice recording expressing her frustrations and emotional pain.

She said when her husband eventually returned, the situation escalated. “He told me I no longer respect him and that if I find another man, I should go ahead and marry him. I thought he was joking, but he was serious,” she said, unknowingly, he had already brought another woman into the house.

Hoping for reconciliation, she reported the matter to her pastor, but claimed her husband was unwilling to resolve the issues.

The woman further alleged that upon returning home after the conversation with their pastor, she saw the other woman who was sitting in her husband’s car earlier inside her husband’sbedroom wearing a nightgown. She said the woman pleaded with her, explaining that her husband had told her he was already divorced.

“She knelt down and begged me. She said my husband told her the marriage was over, that’s why she followed him,” the woman said.

Moments later, she claimed her husband called their son and announced that he had divorced her. When she tried to explain her side of the story, the situation turned violent.

“He punched me in the mouth. This is not the first time. My teeth are damaged because he constantly beats me,” she alleged, breaking down in tears.
