The Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Daniel Baah Acheamfour, has announced the commencement of a nationwide new membership registration exercise, inviting all non-NDC members, including supporters of unsuccessful aspirants in other parties, to join the party.

Speaking on Lawson FM, Acheamfour said the registration exercise officially begins today, February 10, 2026, and will run until the end of March.

“Registration of new members begins today and will continue till the end of March,” he stated, adding that the party is open to welcoming new entrants from all political backgrounds.

According to him, the NDC does not rely solely on physical membership cards to determine party membership, but rather on its official green book register, which serves as the authoritative record.

“We do not have membership cards in the strict sense,” he explained. “Your name must be in the green book before a generated code can be used to issue a membership card.”

He cautioned that possession of a membership card alone does not guarantee recognition within the party.

“If you have a membership card and your name is not in the green book, you will not be recognised as one of us,” he stressed. “It is the green book that fully determines your membership.”

Acheamfour said the NDC expects to register a significant number of new members, a move he believes will strengthen the party ahead of future elections.

“We are estimating to get a reasonable number of new members to increase our numbers during elections,” he noted.

He further explained that registration will be conducted at the branch level across the country, with all constituencies having designated offices to facilitate the process.

“Every constituency has a constituency office,” he said. “Registration is done at the branches where people vote.”

Importantly, Acheamfour clarified that individuals who register within the exercise period will be eligible to participate in the party’s internal elections.

“If you register today, you qualify to vote in internal elections,” he added.

He concluded by encouraging interested persons to take advantage of the opportunity to formally join the NDC and contribute to the party’s growth and internal democratic processes.
