The New Apostolic Church in the Sunyani Area has stepped up efforts to tackle social vices among young people as part of its broader mission to safeguard the nation.

Apostle Patrick Konadu Yiadom, Head of the Sunyani Area, made the remarks during the New Apostolic Youth Conference in Tepa, which brought together youth from ten districts, including Mim, Kukuom, Sunyani, Nsuatre, Dormaa, Drobo, Goaso, Fosukrom, Tepa, and Duayaw Nkwanta.

Speaking to Adom News, Apostle Yiadom expressed concern over the rising involvement of youth in social vices. “We are inviting experts to educate our young people on the dangers of drug abuse, alcoholism, and the harmful use of social media insults,” he explained.

Beyond protecting church members, the church also conducts outreach programs aimed at supporting youths already engaged in these vices, particularly drug abuse.

Pastor Boakye Ansah, Rector of the Tepa District, echoed these concerns, warning that drug abuse among youth poses a serious threat to national development. He emphasized the church’s commitment to doing everything possible to curb this growing menace.

Through these initiatives, the New Apostolic Church, Sunyani Area continues to actively guide young people, promote responsible behavior, and address issues that could weaken the country’s social fabric.
