Former Minister of Defence and Member of Parliament for Bimbilla, Dominic Nitiwul, has called on the government to make public the preliminary findings of investigations into the helicopter crash that claimed eight lives, including that of Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Murtala Muhammed.

The tragic incident, which occurred on August 6, 2025, remains under investigation by a special committee tasked with uncovering the cause of the crash.

Speaking to journalists, Mr. Nitiwul stressed that transparency is crucial in maintaining public trust during such national tragedies. He noted that while a full investigation may take time, the government should release the initial report to allay public anxiety.

“It will take some time to arrive at a conclusive report, but I believe the initial findings should have been made public. People are anxious, and releasing the preliminary details would help calm nerves,” Mr. Nitiwul said.

He added that providing early updates would demonstrate accountability and reaffirm the government’s commitment to uncovering the truth behind the accident.

“Ghanaians need assurance that the investigation is progressing and that every possible cause is being explored,” he added.

The call adds to growing public interest in the ongoing probe, as citizens and families of the victims continue to seek answers regarding the circumstances surrounding the deadly crash.
