Prophet Joshua Adjei has cautioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) against sidelining Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in its preparations for the 2028 general elections, warning that such a move could keep the party in opposition for an extended period.

Speaking in an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi, the prophet stated that internal anger or protest voting against Dr. Bawumia during the party’s presidential primaries would be a costly mistake.

“If the NPP makes a mistake and, out of anger, decides not to vote for Dr. Bawumia, they will remain in opposition for a very long time,” he warned.

Prophet Adjei further predicted that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) would experience internal confusion in the coming months, a situation he believes would gradually increase public sympathy and support for Dr. Bawumia.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia’s respectful posture toward religious leaders and the general public positions him favourably for political power, adding that spiritual insight plays a role in leadership transitions.

“If Bawumia continues to show respect, we know the way and procedures to take power for someone, because I am an ambassador of God,” he said.

The prophet confidently predicted that Dr. Bawumia would win both the NPP presidential primaries and the 2028 general elections, claiming that his conviction followed spiritual consultation.

“I asked my God what He has given to Bawumia that He wants him to lead Ghana, and I saw good works and hard work in him,” Prophet Adjei asserted.

He reiterated that failure by the NPP to elect Dr. Bawumia as its flagbearer would result in another electoral defeat in 2028.
